Bobi Steel is pursuing a PhD in the Department of Anthropology at McGill University; he holds a BA in Music and an MSc in Sustainability and Consultancy, both from the University of Leeds. His research interests lie in socio-economic livelihoods and the impact of sound on our perception of place and belonging, the other-than-human, and concepts of life and death. A musician by training, Bobi holds keen interests in inter- and transdisciplinary pedagogy, and how diverse community building can encourage the development of systemic climate change interventions, and tackle feelings of climate dread and activism burnout. Outside of his research, Bobi can typically be found singing, rowing, or poring over the literary works of Margaret Atwood.
